Proposal

Rationale

My progress throughout first and second year has improved massively. I have
improved not only theoretically but practically as well. For example, my skills
have expanded which resulted in my coming out of my comfort zone in many
of my productions. I have acquired many skills throughout these past projects
such as the ability of different techniques used across documentaries, radio
shows, podcasts and short films.
When I started the course, my confidence was at its lowest with my skills,
knowledge, abilities and ideas. The choice of my previous FMP which was a
Radio Show, I felt my dependence was strong and ideas were coming through.
As someone who’s good at speaking, I did think it would be best for me
however when it came to the end I wasn’t as satisfied with it than I had
thought, meaning I will need to look into what I can do to make it better and or
what I can do to widen the techniques and my abilities when filming and
shooting different shots.

Project Concept

The aim of my project Is too show and expose all of my skills and techniques
into one project for my FMP of the whole of the 2 years of the course. I want
this to be my best project yet and for all my skills to out show the rest of my
productions. I will do this as I will research and look at particular
cinematography pieces to get to know the skills and shots they use in which I
can in cooperate into my piece.
My next production will involve many camera shots and movements
throughout the whole of my production that express the emotion of the
characters and only that.
I will be in cooperating a use of techniques such as wide shots, full shots and
extreme close-up shots to capture expressions and emotion throughout the
film. Many of my previous productions were wide shots or they were just
stationary however particularly for this production, I will be going into close up
shots and developing my close-up camera skills for this.
The equipment I will use in my production will be minimal as using a lot of
props can lead to unnecessary stress and can complicate my filming which Is
the last thing I would want.

Evaluation

Looking back at my previous work, I will do a lot of things differently this time
than I had done before. I will be developing my project and ideas to an extent
to give me the confidence and knowledge of exactly how my film will turn out,
this will give me a format of how It will look like with all my ideas in one place
to see exactly how I can develop this.
Time keeping Is something I always struggle when It comes to productions and
I. To improve this, I have done another production schedule. My production
schedule should be something I’ve considered to help lay out the days I do
what and the times. The next step Is that I will sort out my cast list as soon as I
have finished my idea in place. I will aim to use as many techniques I can
involve into my film to make my production the best one I have done and work
on different Camera shots and movement amongst filming.
Reflecting on my past work, I have noticed they all lack in uniqueness and will
start off good however end up either dragging or becoming boring. My aim Is
to stick to an interesting concept through the whole of my film. This time I will
be involving other people in my production that will in fact have a huge impact
on how it will turn out. This may impact my work negatively because I haven’t
had to rely on someone for my work however they’d be a side character or
interviewee when doing my Radio Shows in the past or Documentaries.
