CHAPTER 1

THE AMBUSH: PART 1

We never expected to become, as the king calls us, Galactic

Swords.
But, that’s our new title I guess. It all happened one day when we
were getting
transferred from the Erorewen soldier camp to one near Vannerc,
when we were ambushed by a group of Roboto archers.
A giant sinkhole opened underneath us, but we fell on to some
sort of platform that started moving down slowly. We found out it was
created by the ancient Kulde,
masters of technology. We expected gold, or maybe a weapon
of mass destruction.
We were wrong.
“How far until the camp?” Jimmy complained after tripping on a
rock.
“Don’t start whining just because you- archers! Everybody
down!” I yelled, diving behind a boulder. “Get out you bows and return
fire!” We shot at them, our obsidian headed arrows piercing their
armor like water. Soon, they all lay unmoving on the grass.
“Well, that was fast.” Kerc said simply.
“Don’t stay relaxed. It’s unlike ‘CNDR’ to send only five troops.
Stay alert.” I warned Kerc, who immediately tensed himself.
Just then, we heard a soft ‘click’ and plunged into
darkness. Soon though, we landed with a hard THUD onto a stone
platform. We then heard gears turning loudly, and we started
descending. “Someone light a torch!” I ordered.
I saw an orange spark fly through the air, then an orange flame
bursted to life..
“Finally, some light.” Kerc said with relief.
But as soon as it had started, the platform suddenly stopped.
We saw a Roboto blade stuck in the gears.
CHAPTER 2
THE AMBUSH: PART 2
We saw ten more Roboto soldiers at the top of the sinkhole.
“Look out! Those are swordthrowers!” I exclaimed “Shields out!”
We grabbed triangle shaped obsidian plates with small grips on their
backs out of our pack, strapped them on, and pressed a small button
on the plates. Immediately, they expanded into star shaped shields
with the Erorewen logo.
Their steel blades bounced harmlessly off the obsidian
surface, and we dodged them as their thrusters in the hilts of the
blades activated. We dropped the shields and shot arrows at the
soldiers, getting one in the neck and another in the heart. Soon, they
all had arrows in them. “I’ll get the sword out of the gears.” Kerc
offered, and he did just so. Soon, we were descending again.
We went downwards for an hour’s worth of time, before
we came to a shuddering stop. “Light torches and spread out.” I
ordered.
“What if we find something?” Jimmy asked.
“Then you activate your indicator beacon and stay put, unless
it’s something hostile.” I replied. Then we lit our torches and went out
without further question from Kerc or Jimmy.
We all searched for three hours before we saw Jimmy’s
beacon go off. We rushed toward him, taking only thirty minutes to
get to him.
“What did you find?” Kerc asked
“Please Kerc, let me handle this. So what did you find?” I said
as Kerc rolled his eyes. “I found a large metal… I don’t know what it
is!” Jimmy explained, slightly confused.
“Where is it?” I asked.
“Back here! I-I’ll show you. C’mon!” Jimmy replied
What I saw changed our lives forever.
CHAPTER 3
THE SHIP
It was a large, grey ship with four giant thrusters at the back,
four at the front, and multiple on the other sides.

“What the…” Kerc said, not finishing his sentence.

“Open it up.” I ordered
“Are you kidding!?” Kerc exclaimed “We don-”
“I said,” I growled, “Open. It. Up.”
“Aye-Aye, captain.” Kerc said sarcastically as he got out a
thermite arrow.
But, a section of the ship opened up, creating a sort of
‘bridge’ to the interior.
“OK. Now get in. NOW!” I demanded, glaring at Kerc.
The interior was dark, with a few dimmed, blue lights, and
three beds.
“Wow. This is amazing!” Jimmy admired the scenery.
I, however, had more pressing matters to attend to.
I saw a faint cyan ‘specter’ in the shape of a man.
“Hello, my name is Xavier. How are you?”
CHAPTER 4
THE VOYAGE

We were shocked that it spoke to us.

“What? Wh-what are you!” I exclaimed, amazed by the blue
specter.
“I am but a simple hologram, here to attend to your every
need,” Xavier explained. “I recommend that you put on your
spacesuits before launch. You won't be able to breath without them.
You can find them in the hallway to the left.” As if on cue, a hidden
door opened to reveal a hallway. “If you need anything just say: X:
Appear, and I will come to your aid.”
“Wait! Why are we here?” I yelled. I lashed out, trying to
grab him, but my hand went through him. Confused, I backed
away from him.
“By the way,” Xavier added, “if you need something, for
example, lights, just say lights: on and they will turn on for you.
Goodbye.” And just like, that Xavier disappeared.
“Might as well try it out,” Kerc said “Lights: on!” The lights came
on almost immediately.
“Well, now we know he’s not lying. Let’s go get those suits on.”
I said.
We entered the hallway
and found three suits waiting for us,
and three changing rooms. We
grabbed one suit each, entering the
separate rooms. We put on the suits
that fit tight around our bodies. We
exited and went back to the sleeping
area, and Jimmy yelled out : “X: appear! Is there a storeroom?”
“Yes, It’s to the right”
“Thanks” We entered it and found a surplus of weapons.
CHAPTER 5
THE ASTEROID

Kerc picked up a metal bow without a string and said “Let me

try something.” He said with a smirk. “Bow: Activate!” he ordered the
metal stick. At first nothing happened, but then it came to life, with a
green line lighting up were a string was supposed be. “Hey, I
wonder…” He put his hand in the position to shoot an arrow. A green,
energetic arrow formed in his fingers. He released it, and it flew out of
his hands, leaving a scorch mark on the wall.
“Woah-ho-ho!” Let’s try some other ones!”
We didn’t argue with him at all. I picked up two short handles,
that, when activated, grew into meter long blue blades. Jimmy picked
a hilt that expanded into a dagger with a main blade and had two
extra blades attached to the main one.

“These weapons are awesome!” Exclaimed Jimmy

Just then, the ship started to shake.
I yelled out, “Windows: open!”
We were over Maariv, the red planet.
And it was getting closer.
CHAPTER 6
THE CRASH

“What the heck was that?!” I yelled, “Ship: explain the situation!”
We heard Xavier’s voice, only amplified.
“The ship has been hit by an asteroid, and we are being pushed
into the atmosphere of Mars, or as you call it, Maariv. I recommend
you activate your helmet, oxygen, and armor. It’s gonna be a hard
landing.”
Before any of us could ask anything, the ship’s outside
burst into flames. We all yelled in Unison “Suit: activate armor,
helmet, and oxygen.
The suits each produced a helmet, titanium plate armor,
and two oxygen tanks that hooked themselves up to the helmets.
“What now!” I yelled out to Xavier. “Follow the blue lights.” He
said as blue lights started flashing on the ceiling towards three
escape pods.
“What about you Xavier!” Jimmy cried out.
“As long as the ship is fine, I am.” He replied
“All we can do is pray. C’mon. And keep your weapons
with you. They’ll probably come in handy.” I said
We got seated in the escape pods and shot into space.
We soon landed with the aid of the parachutes, but not in a
good place. We were surrounded by enemies, but it looks like
they didn’t have such good luck finding weapons. We dove out
of our pods, activating our weapons. I slashed at someone, and
they were reduced to a pile of ashes. Kerc’s bow poisoned
enemies, while Jimmy’s spun through them like a power drill.
Soon, we defeated them all.
And were left with the enemy king.
CHAPTER 7
THE RETURN

We tied up CNDR and threw him against the enemy ship.

We saw that Xavier managed to activate the ship’s parachute,
and had landed safely. We fixed the small hole in the thruster
that made us crash.
We were soon back on Terran (But Xavier calls it
Earth) and CNDR was in the Erorewen dungeons. We had a
feast, (the first food I’ve eaten in two days, in fact) rest, and
finally,
a new job.
We became Galactic Swords, a sort of, ‘space
guard’ if you may, and, got lots of praises from the kings
‘what were you thinkings’ from our family, and, the end of
this book.
