To Whom It May Concern:

RE: APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL STUDY AID

I am hereby applying for financial study aid to be able resume and proceed with my academic
studies at the University of Pretoria.

I am a boy, age 23 years, originally from Zimbabwe and I am currently sitting at home because
I was financially excluded for the University of Pretoria for the whole of last year (2019) and
on the brink of missing out on this year (2020) again the opportunity to resume my studies
where I was studying BEng in Mechanical Engineering. During my second year of study
(2018), my mother who was the sole breadwinner of the family lost her job and this meant that
there was no alternative source of income to facilitate my studies. Thus for the year 2019, I
was financially excluded from the institution as I had not settled the outstanding amount for
the previous year (2018). I applied for every financial aid that I could find and all of them would
turn me down mainly on the basis of my nationality. I have demonstrated capability in my
academics and extra curriculum activities scoring decent averages (above 60%) for most of
my semesters and also having been inducted in the highly renowned Golden Key Society in
the year 2017 followed by actively participating in the STARS Mentorship programme as a
mentor for the year 2018 . I am keen and hopeful that acquiring financial aid will enable me
resume and complete my studies in record time. Sadly I am cannot provide you with my proof
of registration as I still am financially blocked by the institution to proceed with my registration.
My hope is that through your financial aid I can settle my outstanding debt of approximately
R82,000 and also hopefully pay for my registration fee for the year 2020. I am willing to provide
any document that may serve as proof to my application need. Nay form of assistance is
greatly appreciated.

My hope is to be able to resume my studies for the year 2020 where I will be doing my 3rd year
of study rather than waste a second year in a row sitting at home. I kindly hope the committee
takes my application into great consideration.

Yours Sincerely:
