Section 2
Structure
The Structure Section of the Computer-Based TOEFL® Test measures your
ability to understand the structures of standard written English. This section
consists of two kinds of questions.

Complete the Sentence

In complete-the-sentence questions, you must decide which of the four choices
best completes the sentence. Although all four answers may be grammatically
correct when read by themselves, only one is grammatically correct in the context
of the sentence. Therefore, you should spend your time analyzing the type of
structure needed to make a grammatically correct sentence. When you have
chosen an answer, click on the oval next to the answer of your choice. After you
choose your answer, you must click on the Next icon. You are given the
opportunity to check your answer and then click on the Answer Confirm icon. You
must confirm your answer in order to go on to the next item.

Identify the Error

In identify-the-error questions, each sentence has four underlined words or
phrases. One of the underlined choices contains an error or omission. The error
is always one of the underlined words or phrases. Therefore, you should spend
your time analyzing parts of the sentence. You must decide which one is
incorrect and click on your choice, The word or phrase you click on will darken.
You do not need to correct the error, so after you choose your answer, click on
the Next icon. You are given the opportunity to check your answer and then click
on the Answer Confirm icon. You must confirm your answer in order to go on to
the next item.
