Hi,

I went to Rome last August with my friend Peter. We flew to Rome with British Airways. We stayed in a
small hotel near the Colosseum for a week. The hotel was nice and quite cheap. During the day, we walked
around the city. We saw all the famous places like Saint Peter’s, the Trevi fountain, where we threw a coin
and the Colosseum, the famous landmark in Rome. The Colosseum is a very large amphitheatre. It was built
between the 70 and 80 AD. Emperor Vespasian started the first works and Emperor Titus completed it. The
building can fit 80,000 people. It is 156 metres wide, 189 metres long and 57 metres high. We took a lot of
photos. We were really impressed. At night, we went to restaurants and had fantastic pasta. We bought some
presents for our families. We had a great time. Rome is full of history and has a special atmosphere, and
Italian food is really delicious.

What about you? Did you go anywhere?

Hope to hear from you soon,

Steve,
