Nurses as a collaborator
Since, obstetric nurses specialize in
helping doctors care for pregnant
women and deliver babies. In every
work setting OB nurses are often
part of a larger team of caregivers
and must learn how to work as a
team to make sure they are doing
what is best for both the mom and
the baby.
Nurses as a Coordinator
Nurse will coordinate with
other nurses and clinical
staff such as OB physician
in treating newborns and
mothers
Nurses as an Educator
Nurses educate women
on pre-natal care issues
and counsel female
patients on birth control
and safe practices.
Nurses as a Care provider
OB nurses are responsible for
helping to take care for mothers
when they are in delivery room.
They’re the one who are
providing an emotional support
for anxious or nervous
patients/mothers. They also
assist gynecologists and
obstetricians in treating
mothers and newborns.
