Course Title: NCM 122 – Decent Work Employment and Transcultural Nursing
Course Code: NUR1223
Course Description: This course will present theories, concepts, beliefs, and standards related to care of a
clients with cultural diversities. It aims to examine the influence of culture on beliefs, values, and practices
in relation to health illnesses and health seeking behavior of individuals across the lifespan, groups, and
organizations. It also intended to develop the fundamentals rights of the human person in terms of work
safety and remuneration, physical, and mental integrity in exercise of his/her employment.

Course Credit: 3 units (54 hours; [1.5 units Transcultural nursing and 1.5 unit decent work and
employment])
Placement: 4th Year Second Semester
Pre-requisites: none
1. Recognize the importance of transcultural nursing in caring for a client with different practices, beliefs,
values and cultural needs and apply critically apply necessary skills in ensuring work safety and
remuneration
2. Integrate nursing process in the application of decent work employment and transcultural nursing to
ensure a safe, quality, and evidence-based care in in managing a client with different healthcare needs
across different countries
3. Develop an excellent communication skills using inter and intrapersonal skills in managing clients with
diverse cultural needs and co-workers considering safety needs.
4. Practice nursing in accordance with existing laws, legal, ethical, and moral principles of healthcare
locally and globally
5. Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global developments of
having a healthy and decent work environment in research and in the clinical settings
