Technical Specification - Bathymetry 120511
Technical Specification - Bathymetry 120511
The bathymetric survey is to be conducted on the coast linebetween the river mouth at Tanah
Kuningand the river mouth at Mangkupadi, for a total area ofapproximately 13000 (shoreline)
x 6000 m2 (protrusion into the sea in an easterly direction) covering the locations of the
proposed jetty and trestle, cooling water intake and discharge and other marine structures. The
survey area is shown on the attached map.
The bathymetric survey should be carried out in a grid pattern with a longitudinal survey line,
perpendicularto the coast up to a depth of 20 m MSL. Positioning should be determined using
a Differential Global PositioningSystem (DGPS) to record sounding positions. The sounding
positions along thesurvey line should be recorded at 50 m spacing.
Tidal observations should be carried out during the period of the bathymetric survey for
tidalreductions to the echo sounder recorded levels, and MSL (mean sea level) should be used
as the datumelevation for this survey.
The Topometric survey method should be used in the coastal zone which is too shallow to be
reached by survey vessels.
Tidal Measurement
Tidal measurements should be made, based on local tidal fluctuation charts and adopt the
position of0.00 m LWS as the reference level.
The Tidal measurement should be carried out to collect tidal level data that will be used to
analysethe main harmonic constituents and to obtain the datum elevationsfor the project site
i.e.: HHWL,HWL, MSL, LWL, LLWL etc. An automatic tide recorder should be used to
record tidal data for 30days continuously through the bathymetric survey period. In addition
50 year data should be provided from local authorities to evaluate maximum expected wave
heights. Wave data should be provided in height and period.
