Statement of Purpose (SOP) - Mech

Career Goals
New-age technologies in automobiles always fascinate me. I always like to work on
innovative ideas in the automobile industry. I want to work in such a way that I would
integrate new-age tech in upcoming vehicles. JLR is the right choice for this something the
way which Tesla is disrupting the automotive industry by integrating tech with the
automobile. I want to contribute by creating top-line solutions for automobile choices capable
of bringing civilizational shifts through technological convergence.
Near-term Goals
For creating a meaningful impact in any field, one must have a strong technical background
and teamwork capabilities. In the first few years, my first preference would be to get some
expertise in the field or technology I am working in. Moving on to a senior technical position
would-be my short-term goal.
Mid-term goals
In this phase, combining some leadership skills with my tech experience would be helpful for
the company’s culture and functioning. Getting to an engineering head would be my target.
Passion About Automotive Industry
I am a member of Team Knox where we design and manufacture off-road vehicles for the
BAJA SAE competition. I got to explore the process of fabricating a car from scratch. As a
team member, I was entrusted primarily with the design of constant reduction gearboxes and
developing an algorithm to calculate gear ratio to remove the repetitive calculation.
Currently, I am vice-captain of the team, which shows my dedication and passion for
automobiles.
Impact on JLR
In times of technological disruptions in the automotive industry, the industry is making the
transition to digitalization, they need people who have good technical, aptitude, reasoning
and coding skills. I have experience both individually and working as a team on some
cutting-edge technologies and getting desired results. I would try to bring new ideas to the
team and will work towards enhancing the culture of the firm.

I am a quick learner with strong programming and tech skills. Also, I am a good team player
along with a passion for automobiles. I want to bring innovative designs on the wheel and
help JLR in its aim. Looking forward to joining JLR.
