Architecture Assignment :

Customer: Leader in HLS based Products Company having Global Presence. Head Quarter at Chicago
US and operates in most of the countries.

Customer details

The customer had 74 applications to be migrated from end of life hardware, unsupported operating
systems and databases to a new consolidated and standardized environment.

14 applications are home grown and do not have any ISV support. There are 60 applications running
on Intel Servers and in that 18 are COTS application.

CIO Mark head the overall IT Operations with four other directors reporting to him on application, Networking,
Platform and Service Desk Operations. IT support is completely done by in house team and they do engage few
partners for technical manpower supply on a T&M Basis. Wipro is one of the vendor who supply the technical
man power for IT Infra operation as well as application support.
Presently they have 4 data centers, 2 in USA, 2 in UK/EU. All connected through MPLS circuits and do have
redundancy. 70% of applications are virtualized and 30% are running on independent hardware. They have
over all 15 PB of storage and presently 80% the storage space is utilized.
Customer is embracing cloud and cloud native services, also open for building Private cloud as well as going for
a Public cloud solution for the consolidation. He is looking for partner and solution modernization of workloads
and ways of usage.

Scope of Work

• Understanding current environment and propose target architecture

• Migration of 74 applications based on the R-Lane fitment.

• Streamlining of infrastructure component validation and environment provisioning effort.

• Enhance release & change management functions enabling improved service delivery.

• Enhance Infrastructure provisioning and application deployment process by moving away from
traditional approach to automated / agile process resulting in faster and efficient application release.

• Delivering consistent application experience to end users across any cloud.

• Accelerating application delivery as far as the “Develop to Deploy” cycle is concerned to enable
developer agility and reduced time to market for new code

• Comprehensive testing to ensure zero migration defects

2. Hands On Assignments to be done on the Public Cloud:

Write Ansible playbook for following post build tasks on Linux

• AD domain joining
• Set Hostname
• Chrony ntp
• Proxy settings
• Yum repository
• Install Tools / software - commvault, Symantec AV & Intigua jetpatch

Case Study 2:- Write terraform code to create below / similar architecture in AWS or Azure
