The war may have faded out, but it is never over. We must never forget the times of suffering that the
Cambodian citizens had to go through for more than 4 years during the regime, and even years later.
Genocide is still very much present in Cambodia and every other country I the world. For that reason, no
country should feel immune from genocide and should try their utmost hardest to avoid this. For these
reasons, Venezuela is working its utmost hardest as charter member of the united nations, to
strengthen its relationship with Cambodia to try and aid it in any way possible. Finally, the Bolivarian
republic of Venezuela urges every country to work hand in hand with other countries ad the united
nations to come up with a set of international laws to make sure that such wars and crimes never occur
again.
Sub UN Jurisdiction
This unmoderated caucus brought us a lot of success as we were able to come up with many resolutions
concerning the Cambodian genocide war. We came up with some short-term resolutions to aid the
displaced Cambodians by sending red cross and requesting aid from neighboring countries in providing
homes for these Cambodians. In addition to that we came up with long term resolutions that will
prevent genocide from ever happen again. Some of these solutions are to rethink the R2P [phrase as
well as specify the united nations jurisdiction in genocide and war crimes to specify when and where the
united nation can intervene in order o aid the Cambodians now and to make sure this never happens
again.
Thank you.
Honorable Chair Fellow delegates,
If the events that transpired in the last session have shown us anything, it is that the nations
participating in this conference are for the most part truly dedicated to resolving the problem we are
faced with today. I would like to thank my fellow bloc members for their commitment in yesterday’s
committee session. We were able to come up with many resolutions. We came up with resolutions to
both relieve the Cambodian citizens of the repercussions of such a disgusting event, as well as
resolutions to make sure this never happens again in any country. Some of the resolution my bloc
reached are to rethink the R2P phrase as well as specify the united nations jurisdiction in genocide and
war crimes to specify when and where the united nations can intervene. Finally, Venezuela urges all
countries in every bloc to work hard towards providing resolutions for this topic so that we can one day
hand in hand under one unified bloc, to eliminate genocide and war crimes completely from our world
one and for all.
Thank you.
1. If the events that transpired in the last session have shown us anything, it is that the
nations participating in this conference are for the most part truly dedicated to tackling disaster prevention
through reducing the effects of climate change by all means feasible. Nearing the end of yesterday’s session,
the block which Venezuela takes pride in being a part of has started to write down what could only be
described as a successful, and realistic working paper, having touched upon everything from economic
aspects to education and awareness. The delegate of Venezuela hopes however that the block integrates a
point that few have mentioned, that being the issue of tackling disaster management and reaction as a whole
instead of purely focusing on climate change reduction resolutions. Venezuela also looks forward to hearing
more insight from countries participating in the block, particularly those less economically fortunate and
who’s voices are often undermined, as their contribution to a diverse and inclusive outlook would definitely
result in a better working paper, thank you.
Worldwide cooperation is one of the most important ways to put an end to this problem. The
problem will not be solved if countries are divided in their ideologies and efforts. Therefore, the
prevention and sovereignty block in room 4 urges all delegates to work together rather than in
different blocks, to come up with a joint working paper to ensure the safety of Cambodians and
end genocide once and for all. For
Honorable chair fellow delegates,
Bloc in room 4 is working finalizing its working paper and it has been very successful in
providing good resolutions for this topic. In addition to that
