This is a 12 week program that educates students about
aviation, the significance of aviation in the development of
technology, its global impact, and the many careers in the
aviation industry.

During the 12 weeks, students learn the importance of setting

goals, developing plans to attain those goals, and understand
the need to develop skills in science, technology, engineering
and math. At the culmination of the program is Flight Day
where students pilot a 30 minute flight.

Our instructors and our aircraft accompany the students on

their flights. After our first year participating in this program
we have flown over 30 students!

RAMS is a New England based company made up of environmental scientists who have decades of
experience in aerial photography, remote sensing, geographic
information systems and environmental management.

Some of their projects consist of forest and river modeling, wetland delineation, vegetation mapping
and wildlife habitat mapping, aerial energy audits, traffic count and environmental compliance.

Two of Northampton Airport/s pilots fly for RAMS and provide the experience and expertise required
to help RAMS produce the custom flown digital models.
D The EAA provides activities for aviation enthusiasts
in the community and around the region in order to

maneuvers or situations

Women In Aviation
D Women pilots represent less than 7°/o of the total pilot
population in most countries.

D One of our challenges is to encourage more women to become

a pilot.

D Together with our based pilots and local women's colleges,

Smith and Mt. Holyoke, we are going to work toward getting
more women in the air!

D We will be issuing a challenge to our pilot community to take

as many non-pilot females flying as they can between the start
of the new year and July 30!
