Typical wingloading is about 6 02/sq ft! The stall speed is very low & the control surfaces are oversized. The Lazy Bee loops & rolls easily at speeds where most planes fall from the sky! This outstanding low speed performance is shared by the Big Lazy Bee, On the ground the Lazy Bee is just as impressive, The sprung landing gear ensures that the plane handles rough terrain like an R/C jeep! This is one plane that you won't have to chase - you can taxi it right up to your feet. The. take-off roll is very short. The Lazy Bee leaps into the air quickly, even when flying from grassy fields, This ‘amazing ground performance is only matched by the Lazy Bee's float flying ability. Short takeoffs, no loss of ‘aerobatic ability, and you can switch from land plane to float plane in under 5 minutes! And to top it all off, the floats work on snow, tool . As you can see, the Lazy Bees accept a remarkably wide range of motors. Micro-radios.are recommended for the Lazy Bee. If you have an .09 engine or larger, you can probably use standard servos, However, the electric powered and small-engined (less than .09) Lazy Bees need to keep their weight down and should stick with the micro-servos & receiver, and a small battery pack (270 mAh). The light weight covering recommended for the Lazy Bee's Litespan - it saves around 3 - 4 oz compared with standard coverings (Monckote, Easytex). Litespan sticks to itself well, so you can easily apply the scalloped trim of the Lazy Bee. Gas powered Lazy Bees with .09 or larger motors can use the stronger Easytex covering instead of Litespan, Three rals (2 base, 1 trim) will cover the Lazy Bee, The Big Lazy Bee uses standard size radio gear, although you can use a mini or micro servo for the throttle. The recommended covering is Easytex, Itis extremely strong and very easy to use, it doesn't over-shrink - so you don't have 40 worry about warping the wing, and it sticks to itself without bubbles, so you can follow the trim patterns inthe plans. There are two wheel sizes available for the Big Lazy Bee, The standard 4.5" size 116) Trexler Balloon Wheels are for normal use, and the new “big foot* 6" Trexlers (size 126) are for heavy duty use and abuse. A special heavy duty suspension set with R/C monster truck shocks and springs is available for the Big Lazy Bee for use with the 6" wheels. Whether you get a Lazy Bee or Big Lazy Bee kit, or just the plans, each comes with our 40 page instruction book with over 50 detail drawings. All of our plans include detailed covering patterns with trim templates. We want to make building the Lazy Bee almost as easy (and fun) as flying it. Clancy Aviation's Newest Plane - The Stagger Bee How about a rugged biplane that’s quick to build and easy to fly? It can be set-up to be os gentle as the most docile and boring trainer - or, as wild and exciting as the wildest Fun Fly plane. Interested? Good! - Because Clancy Aviation hes got the plane for youl Our newest plane, the Stagger Bee. Designer Andy Clancy says “I'm really excited about this one - itis by far the best plane T've ever developed. Finst of all, it's the easiest plane to fly that I have ever flown, but it can also be wildly maneuverable. Tt is amazingly versatile." “The seldom used "stagger wing" configuration has the bottom wing forward of the top wing, and at a higher angle. of attack. This ensures that the botfom wing always stalls first. When this hoppens, the sudden loss of forward lift drops the nose, which prevents the top wing from stalling. Tn other words, only the bottom wing stalls, and ‘then you are still flying a lightly-loaded high wing airplane. “The Stagger Bee features include the unique streamlined shock mounted wheel skirts, These are rubber mounted and will withstand the worst landings and runways. Taxiing this plane is like steering a slow R/C boat. Incredible durability is obtained with the new streamlined rubber band mounted wings, tail, motor, and wheel pants, Alll parts cre pre-cut and they assemble quickly to produce an airframe that is ight and maneuverable enough for indoor electric power and strong enough for gut-wrenching aerobatics with ahot Saito.30 four-stroke. The Stagger Bee is @ 3-channel plane, but an optional 4-channel upgrade kit featuring Andy's new *wingeron* aileron wing will be available in the near future, We are also working on developing floats for the Stagger Bee. The kit is quick building and very complete. All the wood is high quality and the parts are pre-cut to shape and are interlocking wherever practical, We include the Trexler Balloon Wheels (2 3/4"), and most of the hardware. needed to complete the plane. Stagger Bee Kit ~ just $89 (includes wheels, hardware, and U.S. shipping) Stagger Bee ‘Wingspan, Top: 29.5" Wingspan, Bottom: 24! The performance is impressive and the overall weight is low enough for training. “The motor is the $75 Graupner Speed 480 with an inline gearbox (3.45:1 ratio). This allows the most convenient set-up for cowling-in the motor as seen in the Stagger Bee photos and instructions. The motor weighs 4.6 oz, but it puts out over 20 o7 of thrust. We also include a $5 prop adaptor and the new APC 10" X 7" Electric prop ($4). The $55 high efficiency Viper Micro Demon 101 digital speed control has BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit), soft start, ond safety start. It handles up to 24 amps and batteries with 6 to 8 cells. Tt also features low torque start-up, a high switching rate (4700 Hz), and automatic motor cut-off if the radio signal is lost. Another Viper advantege is that it is made here in the USA by a guy who speaks English and has an 800 number that you can call if you need help. The battery is a Sanyo 8-cell, 800 mAh pack ($35). ‘The battery connector is the lightweight and easy +o use 4-pin Dean's plug, All of the components are pre-wired and the soldering has been done, so this isa “plug and play” system. The total cost of all of these items purchased separately is about $180. We solder it together for you and save you some money besides! The Stagger Bee Electric Combo - just $1601 New From Clancy Aviation - The Yard Bee ‘Andy Clancy developed this new 29" span, 270 sq in, Quick-Build Bee for busy or first-time builders, We call it the Yard Bee, because it flies like our Lazy Bee, but itis the right size for backyard and schoolyard flying. During the development of the Vard Bee, we built and tested 13 prototypes. This plane is especially easy to build. All parts are pre-cut and interlock wherever practical. This plane has the durability and maneuverability needed to be flown almost anywhere. For our new video, we crash tested a prototype. It survived cartwheeling across ‘the driveway hitting palm trees and bushes and vertical dives into a garbage can onto pavement. This plane is probably the most durable plane that I've ever seen. It's copable of loops, rolls, spins, and ground take of fs. “The Yard Bee builds faster than many ARFs!_ Several modelers have finished the plane in six hours or /esd You can fly it fast or slow - set it up mild and forgiving, or wild and snappy. All the standard propulsion types work with this plane! The Yard Beeis light enough for indoor electric motors and strong enough for Speed 400 or .020 Astro Flight motors. Tt weighs only 14 o7 with a Speed 400 using eight 500 mAh cells, The Yard Bee also works well with glow engines from .O10 up to .10 in size, With a Cox .049, the Yard Bee weighs just 9 oz, CO, power is also an option! We use and recommend the GM 300 CO, engine. For those who are teaching themselves to fly, we suggest flying this plane as aglider. Asa glider the Yard Bee is so light in weight that it can survive many crashes. The kitis very complete. All the wood is high quality and all the parts are pre-cut so you don’t even need a knife to build it! We include clear Mylar iron-on covering (it's so user-friendly!) and most of the hardware. Plywood wheels are included in the kit. ‘The Yard Bee kit is only $541 (U.S. Shipping included) and on optional pair of the inflatable Trexler Balloon Wheels cand pump are available for only $10. four Yar We also offer an “Electrification Combination", or “Electric Combo", for the Yard Bee, The Yard Bee Electric Combo is the complete power train for the plane and it weighs just 4.9 oz, but it provides 7 oz of thrust which can easily Fly planes weighing up to 18 oz. So you can use this electrification kit on planes weighing 18 oz or less. The system includes the YB1 motor with a 4.8:1 gear drive and propeller (7.25" x 4"). We include Viper Model's excellent Little Demon 21 high-efficiency Digital Speed Control with BEC. The Little Demon handles up to 6 amps and batteries with 6 to 8 cells. Tt also features low torque start-up, a high switching rate (3800 Hz), and automatic motor cut-off if the radio signal is lost. Power is supplied by a 6-cell Sanyo 350 mAh battery pack. All soldering has been done, so this is a "plug and play* system, The battery connection uses a 4-pin Dean's plug: When equipped with this system, the Yard Bee typically has a flying weight of 10 to 12 oz, so the performance is sparkling. Take-offs are short, and the climb out is steep. Level flight is maintained at about 4 throttle. Aerobatic performance is good, and duration is 5 minutes or more depending on throttle setting. System price is just $89 plus $4 shipping & handling. Bee ‘This is what started it all: The Amazing Lazy Bee, One of the easiest planes to identify at any flying field. Trexler has been manufacturing these high quality pneumatic wheels for model planes since 1936! Trexler is still around because their wheels are very light, they mimic the Goodyear Ain Wheels from the Golden Age of Aviation, and they have excellent ground handling & shock absorption, ‘Trexler Balloon Wheels ore inflatable and made of high quality latex rubber. They come in a wide range of sizes. ‘The wheel sizes denoted with a "6" (ie.,##96) were originally designed for gas powered planes, and the other sizes are for rubber powered planes, Each wheel has a built-in wooden hub and a long stem valve. The tires are inflated by attaching a pump to the stem, pumping the wheel full of air, and pinching the stem shut while twisting it several simes, Then wind the stem around the hub and tuck the twisted stem between the whee! & hub: the tire pressure will hold it in place. When properly inflated, the wheels provide a lot of cushion from bumps & hard landings. NEWI We now offer specially made "heavy duty* versions of Trexler Wheels for sizes #1 thru #6. These are ‘thicker rubber versions of these wheels. The heavy duty wheels were first developed and tested as tail wheels on the Lazy Bee & Big Lazy Bee since these tail wheels must endure more than main wheels on rubber powered planes. So, we used thicker rubber tail wheels for extra strength - and then we found that the Heavy Duty ‘Trexler Wheels also work well os main wheels on smaller R/C planes like our Yard Bee & other "Park Flyer* planes. This is a simple pump (no valve) made from a 2 oz syringe, but it works very well for inflating the smaller Trexler Wheels. Tt is good for the wheels up to size #96 (3" diameter) ‘Trexler Hand Pump @ $8 This is a hand held bulb pump that inflates the wheels os you squeeze the bulb, Recommended for size #106 and up, but it works well for all of the wheels and is easy to operate. NOTE: Lf you want your wheels to last, never inflate them by blowing them up by mouth! The trapped moisture ccan cause the rubber to decay. Alwoys inflate with an air pump, but be careful not to over-inflatel Never remove +the hubs from your Trexler Wheels - this can cause leaks! If you paint your hubs, mask the wheel with cardboard, or newspaper, and some inasking tape. Then paint one side and let it dry before painting the other side of the hub.
