Countryside vs.

city
Nowadays a lot of people live in big cities because they think it is extremely convenient to find everything
they need in everyday life very quickly. People living in cities have easy access to all modern facilities such
as transport, banks, shopping centres and sports halls. Moreover, people can choose from a wide range of
educational and health services which makes life easier there. While there are people who do not like noisy
city life but prefer peace and a slower pace of life, and the everyday connection with nature. They like
walking in the forest and breathing fresh air, and enjoy silence. The downside is that there are fewer
shopping, health, educational or entertainment facilities there.

In a city it is generally easier to find a job and there are more possibilities for spending your free time
because there are, for example, sports facilities, clubs, theatres and cinemas. Specialised health services are
more easily accessible and there are big hypermarkets and plazas with a wide variety of goods and services.
On the other hand, the air is polluted, the streets are dirty and noisy, there is more crime, and life is too
hectic for many people. In a village, life is more peaceful, the air is clean, there are flowers and trees
everywhere and people know each other. The disadvantages are that the infrastructure is not so developed,
the number of services is generally smaller and you have to commute to make your living. If you need to
contact the authorities because of some administrative matters, you have to travel to the nearest city and it
can take all day.
