Village and home

There are people who do not like noisy city life but prefer peace and a slower pace of life, and the everyday
connection with nature. They like walking in the forest and breathing fresh air, and enjoy silence. The
downside is that there are fewer shopping, health, educational or entertainment facilities there.

I live in Kápolnásnyék which is a village with 3600 residents. There aren’t too many sights here but Lake
Velence is near this village even on foot. There aren’t any plazas or supermarkets but everything can be
bought nearby. There are churches, a nursery, a primary and a secondary school, sports fields and so on.
There is a museum because Kápolnásnyék was Vörösmarty Mihály’s birth place, so his house is a museum
now.

As I said, I live in Kápolnásnyék, and I live in a house with a garden. I like living here because we have a
big garden, so we can grow vegetables and fruit, we can also keep a dog. In the house we have ten rooms:
four bedrooms, two living-rooms, a hall, two bathrooms and a kitchen. I used to share my room with my
sister when I was younger, but now I have my own room with my own bed. The walls of my room are blue
and the carpet is brown. I have a big bed as I said. Opposite the bed there is a TV and a lamp. Next to my
bed there is a bedside table. I also have a desk, plenty of plants and a lot of pictures on my wall. The kitchen
is a very important part of the house. It is usually used by my mum, because she cooks for the whole family.
There is a dishwasher, a cupboard, a fridge with a freezer and a cooker here.
