BOARD OF REVENUE, PUNJAB. Correction Slip No.98-C.M., dated the 2nd August, 1988. PUNJAS CUWONY MiMUAL 1933, Paita 550( 48 aMeNDED, FROM TIME TO PMB)IS RVISK AND RECONSTITUTED aS FULLOWS:— a) “Cases now frequently arise where purchasers of state agricultural land, want to use a nart or whole of it for residential, commercial or industrial nurposes. Sinilorly purchasers of residential sites want to use a “part or whole of these sites for connercial/intustrial purposes. Ubviously, however, conversion of agricultural land and residential sites to uses other than those for which these were originally designed snd sold, defeats the very purpose of Colonization 2nd Town Planning. as such a careful watch is to be kept for such transgressions, and in this connection Finsnoial Commissioner's letter Nos. 755-C, dated the 16th October, 1929, No.73-C, dated the 6th Jamery,1932 and No.43-C, dated the 4th January ,1940 read with colony conditions governing sale/crant of State land, published at pasos 178 to 261(Part.5) Volume II of the Colony Manual, 1966 edition, are relevant. (3) ' as ‘regards unauthorised conversions made after 1930, it is felt that since Governuent would Rave recovered substantially more for such agricultural land/Sites, if the sane had been sold for the purpose for which they have been subsequently sonver cod ( ice. sent is residential ur commercial etc.), the Govu les to déviand a timately entitled in such cas suitable sua as compensation for condunstivn of what would otherwise be a irrectifiablo breach of the cOnditions of sale/urant 4nd ompowers the Governvent to resume the grant as per terms of sale: However, the existing policy for calculation of condonation fee conversion within i.e. 100% of the gain in cane 10 yours of acquisition of proprietary richts and in other cusses difference of mark-t vrices pr evailing for Similar lend in use for agricultural vurnese und : that for residontial/eoimercial surpose, had becone ‘harsh, due to phenomen:] rise in prices around all towns/cities on account of heavy aiqration of population to urban centres, and resultant extension ef municipal lisits.
