Job Title: Sr. R&D Engineer


Company: Medtronic
Duration: 3+ months
Location: Fort Worth, TX (Targeting 3 days a week onsite)

Role focuses on FEA expertise in shock and vibration.

Top 3 Skillset/Experience:
1. Knowledge and experience modeling behavior of plastics and metals in the Ansys suite of tools
2. Ability to perform FEA for the purpose of device design, optimization, testing verification, method validation,
and regulatory submissions
3. Ability to write scripts/programs to perform calculations and control model outcomes

Education Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical
• 4 years of experience in finite element analysis, Master’s or Doctorate degree in field preferred
• Ability to understand and define mechanical models for complex devices
• Ability to perform FEA for the purpose of device design, optimization, testing verification, method validation,
and regulatory submissions
• Ability to write scripts/programs to perform calculations and control model outcomes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to efficiently manage a large quantity of data and calculations
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to learn and apply new knowledge quickly
• Ability to work in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Knowledge and application of ANSYS suite of tools

Nice to Have:
• Knowledge and experience modeling behavior of plastics, metals
• Knowledge and experience with fabrication processes including molding, stamping and casting
• Experience with system design optimization practices and statistical methods
• Medical device experience
