Report Week November 15 thru November 19

On Monday, November 15, I was at No More Sidelines, with Ashton because Amy was not

going to be there today. When we got there no one was there. It was about 8:15 when I arrived

Ashton had got into the car with me because his mom had left. It has been about 30 mins. After

a couple of minutes Cortney had finally arrived, Ashton and I got out of the car and went inside

the building. It was around 8:45 when she got there. We got to cleaning, we started stacking the

chairs, taking the tables to the back, and taking off the table cloths. I had a doctor’s

appointment at 9:30 so I did as much as I could before it was time for me to leave. We were

done stacking the chairs. Cortney asked me to move 9 chairs into the other room and told

Ashton to move 6 to another room. She told us she wanted to keep the room even because

there were two parties tomorrow. After that, it was almost time for me to leave so I started

getting ready. I got my paper in keys and found Cortney so she could sign my paper after that I

said go bye Ashton he said have a safe doctor appointment.

On Tuesday, November 16, I was at Fruitport Township Fire Department, When I got

there I saw Shane he was on the Ft with Tim and there were another guy typing reports, I said

good morning to both of them plus Tim after that a man came to the windows he was asking

questions about the fire truck because he was installing new radios in all the fire trucks. After

that, Shane and I went into the kitchen and he asked me if I wanted any coffee. I said no I don’t

like it he said I didn’t ask if you liked it we both started laughing. Then we went out to the trucks

because he said we have to check trucks today so we started with the first truck he had me

check the brake lights, see if all the lights are working, after that truck we went to the big fire

truck he had me do this one by myself while he went back inside to make a phone call, I was

almost finished when he came back out I told him I couldn’t find where these 2 things were he
showed me where the things were I said I saw that but didn’t know what that was. After that was

finished he showed me the radios they were installing into the truck. There were 2 trucks that

the new radios weren’t working in because they wired one wrong in it made the battery die so

they had to charge the battery back up. In the second one, the program was not working on the

new radio. We went back inside I sat at the table when the other guy got done with his reports

he came in talked to me in Shane after we that one of the guys that were working on came

inside in asked did they want to put radio’s in one of the trucks Shane said he didn’t know so he

called David the chief Dave told him he would be over in a couple of minutes so tell them to hold

on. While we waited Shane started talking to the other guy about how they wanted to remove

someone I could from the iPad because they didn’t want one on there. I told them I knew how,

so I removed the person's personal account off the iPad so all they had to do was create an

account for the iPad. After a couple of minutes Dave had finally arrived he told them not to

switch the radios out the old truck, I said Hi to him then he went to make him some coffee, then

It was a Fruitport officer that came to visit his name was Atkison everyone said hello to him then

they start talking Dave and Shane had gone back where the firetrucks are. Mr. Atkinson started

talking about different things he asked what do I want to do. I told him I wanted to be a detective

and he said that’s cool. The conversation ended when Dave and Shane had come back into the

room Mr. Atkinson said bye. The other guy said he’s going back to his department, Dave sat

down so did Shane they started talking about hunting because Dave went hunting this week. It

was almost time for me to leave. They signed my papers and I said goodbye and left.

On Wednesday, November 17, I was at Central Dispatch. When I got to Central Dispatch

I took the elevator upstairs and waited for someone to come to the window to let me inside the

doors. A woman had come to the door and opened it, she said Hi I said Hi back she stopped me

to look at my cross She said it was very beautiful I said thank you. We started to walk into the

room where the dispatchers where she took me to the computer and I sat down. Mr. Sandslands

the supervisor was on a call when he was supposed to show me how to do the calls but he
asked Brendan to do it. I remember how to work the computer and how to silence the calls

when someone called. After a couple of minutes, a lot of phone calls start coming in because of

a car crash and construction. Most of the people were calling to find a way out of traffic to find

shortcuts. After a short period of time things started to calm down, Brendan asked everyone if

they wanted a breakfast sandwich everyone said yes he told me he would pay for mine I said

thank you. Someone went to go get the sandwiches when she came back she handed everyone

their sandwiches. I said thank you, everyone, start eating their sandwiches Mr. Sanslands said

someone is bringing donuts up. Brendan said you got to be kidding me right now right when we

just went to go get food. After everyone was done eating a couple of people with suits came

upstairs. I saw Chief Dave from Fruitport fire. He said not you again. I started to laugh. We

started talking for a little bit then he asked if there was anything interesting. I told him just a lot

of people calling from a car crash and construction. The group started to leave. It was 10:20. It

was almost time for me to leave. I went to Mr. Sandslands so he could sign my paper. I said

thank you and went back downstairs to leave.

On Thursday, November 18, I was at Norton Shores Police Department, When I arrived

at the police station I told them I was DD they said ok they’re going to call the person I was

going to be doing a ride-along with. The person I was riding with, came to the door and

introduced himself. His name was Scott I told him my name was DD. Then we started walking to

the break room. He told me he had to put the stuff up. They were doing stimulation with pellets

and water mace. Then we started walking to the garage to get inside the cruiser. He said he

had to move his bags. I said Ok. We got into the cruiser and he asked what type of music do

you listen to. I told him it depends on my mood. He said the radio is very boring in the morning

because all they do is talk about nothing. I said that very true. We started driving around and

talking for a little bit. He asked if I only went to CTC. I said no Mona Shores is my home school.

He asked if I visited any other departments or fire stations. I told him yes, he said which one do

you enjoy more? I told him Police because I want to be a detective. He said that’s cool. After
that we went into the Autozone parking lot. He made a phone call, it was to a detective, while he

was on the phone he asked me to have I had ever used the computer before I said no he

showed me where to type in a license plate at. He told me the first plate number, then he told

the person on the phone who the car belonged to, after that the second one,then the last one.

He asked the person where he was he said grand haven dropping off the kids then he said he

was headed to get a suspect to bring into the office to talk to. Scott said call him when you're on

your way to the office the person on the phone said Ok. Scott had told me the person they were

looking for cut-off parts on three trucks went to junk them for money. They also think it was an

inside job and also think one of the employees helped. We started driving around again. He

called another detective and asked what they were up to. They said they were heading to get

something out of a truck then after she was heading to a crime scene car, Scott told her he

would meet her there in 15 minutes. She said ok. We started to head to the auto shop where the

detectives were. I met Sara. I don't remember the other detective’s name but they asked what

my name was. I told them DD, they said hi DD. We headed inside the building to look at the car

the car was from a suicide that happened last night at Meijers, they start to put gloves on Scott

handed me some gloves then they opened the car me and Sara stood back the other detective

start going through the things he found his phone. The driver seat had a lot of blood on it but not

on the ceiling of the car. They said they were surprised because of the way he shot himself.

There Were also a lot of pill bottles in the car in the glove box, armrest, underneath the seat,

and also in the trunk of the car, there were also some in a bag too. After all of that was finished

the workers asked what did they want them to do with the car, the detectives said you can

auction off the car, they said just like that he said yes. We all took off our gloves in throw them

away then we went outside back to the car. We got inside the car Sara had asked Scott would

he come with them to arrest someone but Scott had got a phone call from the other detective

saying he got the other guy in there on the way to the office, Scott said ok. He told Sara the

witness is at the office so we are going to head back. We said goodbye to them and a bye in
left. We headed back to the office. When we got there we went into this room on TV with the

camera so we could watch him interview the witness and other people in the room too. The

interview started. He was starting to hit a nerve. The person stormed out of the room and said

he didn't have to deal with this. The person that was interviewing him came into the room and

told us he was shaking with nervousness because he was lying and he was getting frustrated.

They showed me a video from the workplace where the witness was standing how excited he

was when he found the car. After I was finished watching the video the detective asked if I had

any questions. I said no, Scott signed my paper and I told everyone goodbye.

On Friday, November 19, I was at Ctc. I said good morning to everyone. We went into

our Diga, said our one good thing, and went back to our seats. They watched CNN 10. I asked

them what three things you learned. After that I,Amy, Ashton went up to tell us what we did this

week then we went back to our seats. Then Captain put on a movie some was watching, some

wasn’t, then I went into Reynolds office with Amy we were talking for a little bit then it was time

for shores to leave them I left.
