Reflection 1

The three pieces of stimulus I gathered up additionally enhanced my knowledge

about soca music
My first piece is a poem entitled “soca music” which speaks about soca music
as being an expression of our culture that exists in society. This poem taught me
that soca has a positive feedback because of the love it brings in by the people.
For my second piece I researched a song titled “soca Kingdom”. It is mainly
based on celebrating and having fun when partying. It taught me how
entertaining and enjoyable it is and that there Is more to it than fetes and
parades.
Within the article, it summarized that soca music before the modern influencers
of autotune, moved people through the artists voice and rhythms encouraging
movements which led to the greatest shows on carnival. This piece was very
useful because it taught the history and background of soca music
