FILM SCRIPT:
NARRATOR: Once upon a time there was a family of ducks who lived on an old farm. There
were many animals there. Horses, pigs, cows, goats and cats. One day Mommy duck laid many
eggs. after several days, the eggs hatched, and very pretty ducklings hatched out of them.
DUCKLING 1: Pip, pip
MOMMY DUCK: Quack, quack! It's about time they were born! Count how many
ducklings I
have…1, 2, 3, 4…
5? That's weird, that egg didn't hatch, and it's bigger than the others. I don't remember laying
five eggs. I would like to know how I got here. Or have I counted wrong?
NARRATOR: Reluctantly, the egg cracked open, and a very large duckling came out, which was
not yellow, but gray, ugly, and with a huge beak. He was very different from the others.
UGLY DUCKLING: I feel very sad for everything they say to me. I feel very
alone!
MOMMY DUCK: Poor thing. Why aren't you beautiful like my other ducklings?
UGLY DUCKLING:Mom, I feel worse for what you say to me. Nobody here
loves me. Everyone annoys me.
MOMMY DUCK: Why don't you go for a walk? Come on, go for a walk by the lake. And if you
want there you can stay!
UGLY DUCKLING: Yes, mom. I'll go far away, and I'll never come back.
NARRATOR: The Ugly Duckling left the farm, and walked and walked, until he found some
birds.
UGLY DUCKLING: Do you know any ducklings that have gray feathers like
mine?
BIRD 1: I don't.
BIRD 1: What race are you?
NARRATOR: The Ugly Duckling did not lose hope, and he kept walking until he reached the
lake.
UGLY DUCKLING: They don't want me anywhere! Neither on the farm nor here!
NARRATOR: Then keep walking until I get to the other side of the lake.
UGLY DUCKLING: I'm hungry, and I'm so tired from walking, I'm going to
sleep for a while.
NARRATOR: And the Ugly Duckling fell fast asleep, until someone woke him up.
SWAN 1: What are you doing here asleep? Come swim with us brother!
SWAN 1: Enter the water and you will see yourself in it!
NARRATOR: The Ugly Duckling went in for a swim and looked at himself in the water.
UGLY DUCKLING: Oh, I'm not so ugly anymore. Not grey! Not clumsy! I am a
white swan!
NARRATOR: Some children who played in the lake, saw it and said.
NARRATOR: There's a new swan on the lake!
NARRATOR: How young and slender he is!
NARRATOR: It's the prettiest!
