Moving onto site inventory and suitability analysis of our project. For
primary site selection, we considered the circulation network, Central
Business District (which is Shibbari in khulna), market distance, hospital
distance, school distance, neighboring residential areas and industrial
areas. On the basis of these considerations, we preferred agricultural or
barren lands. Initially, we chose ten sites and eliminated five of them
considering these. The sites on the west side were eliminated because of
less communication with the main Khulna City and for being on the
other side of voirab river. Site near industrial areas also got eliminated
because of various security reasons. And for having less circulation
network and neighboring residential area, sites also got eliminated.
These were decided by group discussion and these 5 sites were selected
for further analysis. site-01 is a site from teligati with a better
connectivity network than the others. Site 3 is close to the Gollamri-
Sonadanga bypass, which has a good transport system for being close to
the highway. Site 5 is Kartikkul, which has the highest elevation among
selected sites. Our next site is in Kholabaria, which also has a good
transportation system and it has the largest area among the selected sites.
Finally, our last selected site is site-10 which is in Rayermahal. The
community facilities, transportation system, and site elevation are all
pretty good. As a result, it can be said that each of the finalized sites has
its own set of specific characteristics.
