July 11, 1980 - Gdynia, Poland) BOTH a composer and jazz vibraphone player, Jan is a graduate of academies of fnusie in Katowice, Poland and in Nuremberg, Germany. He has studied with Bernard Maseli, Andrzej Zubek, and Bill Motenhof. WELL versed in jazz as well as classical music, his compositions display an appealing fusion of both idioms. He has written music for a wide variety of settings and instrumentations: chamber music, titles for big-band, orchestra compositions, titles for solo vibraphone and music for film and theater. FOUNDER and leader of two ensembles, Symphonic Fusion and Fourth Floor, he has won many international music competitions, including Grand Prix of the Open Contest for Jazz Personality 2007 on Jazz on the Odra River festival in Poland.
