1.4 justify maintaining normal patterns of
speech during the presentation of
grammar.
Since there are several variances between the
standard English grammar taught in schools and the
standard of native English speakers, students should
be familiar with traditional speech schemes, which
often incorporate aspects of rapid speech.
Therefore, students need to be educated on
connected speech to understand a native speaker
instead of their grammar in the classroom or their
coursebooks. It is essential to pay attention to the
pronunciation characteristics of all of our lessons. A
new structure should be taught with an eye toward
how it would sound in natural English.
Understanding that grammar is not just a structure
on a page is easier when we emphasize the
characteristics of fast speaking. In teaching
grammar, the main objective is to facilitate learners'
comprehension and generate actual language rather
than serve as a means in and of itself. Maintaining a
typical speech pattern while teaching the rule of
grammar will provide these opportunities.
