Week 1 – Project Introduction

Game Theme

Conspiracy theories abound in modern social political discourse.

Design a Third Person Shooter game that starts with the most famous conspiracy theory ever.

Roswell New Mexico “Incident” happened in 1956, but didn’t really become a big story until the late
1970’s.

Teams Assigned

Programmers from Game Prototyping (prior quarter) get first selection.

1 Programmer

3 Environment Artists

1 Character Artist

1 Weapon/FXArtist

Prop Artists (optional based upon class size)

Find a Fine Art Influence.

Third Person Shooter Project


Using Unity, you will design and implement a TPS game with network capable game play.

Your game art style is up to you, but should enhance and promote the historical/cultural context of the
game.

Your game will require a minimum of:

Characters
Your game will require two rigged and animated characters - 20,000 tris each
one marketing model (hi-res) - at least 1,000,000 tris
You can use animations from mixamo.
Three animation blend states

Weapons
Your game should offer 3 weapons with unique abilities and visuals.
At least one weapon should reload.

Levels
3 levels
All levels must be at night (outdoors), or inside
Each level requires backed lighting
Each Level must have at least 40 lights - colored.
Levels will require audio triggers.
Each Level requires 3 animated assets

HUD/UI
Made in another course.

Controllers
Xbox Controller or PS Controller Required.

Marketing Material
Create promotional material to sell the game.

Additional Information
You can reuse any code that your team members wrote for the Game Protyping class to give you a head
start. Some parts will be reuseable. Other parts will not.
