beer manufacturer was joined by Asia Brewery Inc. (ABI) in 1982 with the inauguration of its
first brewery in Cabuyao, Laguna. It was a publicly listed holding company established by the
tycoon Chairman, Lucio Tan– he intended to provide Filipinos with beer products that are
equal, if not better in quality to what competition has to offer, but prices that everyone can
afford. It came into a marker that has long been dominated by a monopoly. And starting from a
humble vision to break the beer monopoly, Asia Brewery Inc. is now a major player in the
country’s beverage and industrial packaging industry.

The company manufactures and distributes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and is
also a distributor of dairy products in the Philippines under the different names: Tanduay,
Absolute Distilled Drinking Water, Summit Natural Drinking Water, Cobra Energy Drink, Creamy
Delight Yogurt, and others. It offers high-quality beverages at prices the average Filipino can
afford.
