Data Analysis

Part 2 of the experiment is basically the determination of magnetic forces using the

relationship between magnets and different properties such as magnetic field and current. Theory

says that this magnetic field is the space that surrounds a magnet and is usually represented by

the loop of magnetic field lines that enters the S pole and exits the N pole. In Part 2a, the

changing factor or variable is the number of magnets. Beginning with two, the magnetic force

increased as another magnet is added. Having a total of six, this addition produced a greater

magnetic force as a result of a larger magnetic field. Hence, the data has validated our analysis.

The same theory holds true as the magnetic force increases, the increase in current is

visible for Part 2b, current being the variable with 1.0 increment. Besides a magnet, a current-

carrying wire can establish its own magnetic field, and when a charge enters the magnetic field,

magnetic force is exerted on it. Based on the data, each increment in current gives out a greater

magnetic force. Also, the magnetic force resulted to zero when 0.0 A of current was applied to it.

Theory says that if a wire is parallel to the magnetic field, the magnetic force is zero. Therefore,

the data validates our analysis.
