Exercise 1

Neha: She is a tough girl in the office. She is always ready to demand her
rights but when it comes to helping others, she pulls herself out. Though
she is not liked by the boss, he uses her to convey the unpopular decisions.

Kanu: She is meek and shy girl since she joined the office. She cannot speak
her mind off, and she does not like to work in teams. If the work is given to
her independently, she manages to do it well; however, she fails as a team
player. Therefore, she tries to avoid people at times.

Sanjana: She is always ready to help others. She will work overtime and
sacrifice her own work to help others. She does not say no to people and
people keep bugging her with work. Though she get frustrated at times,
she never reacts. She has many admirers in the office.

Madhuri: Madhuri like to speak-up her mind, but she listens to others too.
She knows when to speak and when to stay quiet, but whatever
assignment she picks, she manages to finish it well within time. Also, her
team members remain convinced with her.

Exercise 2

Boss 1: When he gives feedback to his employees, he gives specific details.


Like he describes about their body language, their communication skills,
and their group behavior. Though his feedback is accurate, he is accused of
being judgmental. Example of feedback: Your body language is alienating.

Boss 2: His is a non-specific feedback. The employees find it difficult to


respond to his feedback. Or, feel good when the judgments are emotionally
loaded. However, they never question the ambiguity of the feedback.
Example of feedback: You have got a bad attitude.

Boss 3: His feedback, though descriptive, is not accompanied by relevant


observations and examples. Example: Your body language is hard to read.
Employees need it to understand what exactly has occurred and what is
worth changing.

Boss 4: The boss provides specific details along with the descriptors.
Employees like it because they can easily identify their areas of
improvement in a constructive and open manner.
