Waterloo Families,
Judge Grischow, in the Circuit Court for the Seventh Judicial
Circuit. Sangamon County, lilinois, has issued a ruling on a
Temporary Restraining Order filed against the Govemor, The
ilinois Department of Public Health, The Illinois State Board of
Education, and many schoo! districts throughout the State of
lilinois, including Waterloo CUSD #5. This ruling has implications
for the COVID mitigation strategies that are currently in place in
our schools. There is some confusion and debate regarding what
exactly the order means and who exactly the order applies to.
This order is “Temporary” and will be up for Appeal, and therefore
the rules governing our mitigation strategies may revert back to
previous guidance offered by IDPH/ISBE, or be further adjusted. It
is important to understand that this may be a fluid situation over
the days and weeks ahead, and we will continue to communicate
with our students, parents, staff, and community, as any additional
updates and/or interpretations become available.
As school resumes on Monday, here Is information regarding
“what we know today” in regard to the mitigations that will be in
place.
