Advantages of Melbourne (and Australia in general)

Everything else.

Australia is a better country for living in than England (and the rest of the UK).

Climate is better, air is fresher, the wildlife is cuter.

Property is more affordable, and generally of a higher quality.

The feeling of space is quite real, if I want to go on a 10km walk, and not see another human, I can do that.

Aussies are friendlier, sometimes almost too friendly. In Australia, you’re someones ‘mate’ until proven otherwise.

It feels safer, when you pass a group of teenagers in Australia, you’ll probably get a friendly hello, in the UK, I brace myself for an altercation… I don’t lock my front
door in Australia, my shed, containing expensive equipment doesn’t even have a place for a lock…. I sometimes lock my car, if I remember.

Australia is spectacularly beautiful, and very varied…

This is 5 minutes from my house… This is a few hours drive…

At the right time of year (almost now…), this is a couple of hours drive too… Yes, that’s snow, in Australia, I was surprised too…

Summary

I prefer Australia, and it wasn’t a difficult decision.
