What I have taken away from prelim period is a better grasp of how technologies progress, as

well as different ideas and their teachings that I can apply in my daily life. Technology has the potential
to have both positive and harmful effects on society. As technology progresses, it may have negative
consequences such as laziness and reliant on it. I won't be able to compute faster without these
technologies, which is vital for me as a Civil Engineering student, and I won't be able to discover new
things on the internet without them. These new things I learnt on the internet aided me in getting closer
to my life goal of becoming a licensed Civil Engineer. We can conclude that the internet has its benefits
and disadvantages; however, we must be aware when using the internet, particularly on social media.
We must be cautious about what we do online because it is used by individuals all around the world.
After our discussion in the final period, I learned so much about how technologies really helped us
specially the simulation that really helped many people in their work. For me, AutoCAD is really a big
help for us engineering students. It took us closer to our dream in life. I can say that it really changed my
way of living. Also, the use of simulation for the weather forecaster is a big help to all of us because it
can change our plans or events in the day and be ready if there are thunderstorm that will occur. There
is no time wasted and time is really important to all us. It helped us to be productive in a day. Without
these simulations, it can really change our life right now. Lastly, the group activity that we did on the
final period about robots that can take the job of people in the future really made me think if that is
possible to happen. For me, there are still things that robots cannot do, humans can give you love and
energy while working but robots will not. In reality, robots really helped us in our daily life and made our
life easier. In the end, robots will not work without the control of humans. With the help of this module,
it took me closer to what really technologies give us today. I think it will continue to evolve and make
things easier in the future. After taking this module I am more knowledgeable and aware when using the
internet. Specially today that we are using our time surfing the internet, we need to be careful on what
we are doing on the internet because many people are also using it.
