Syllabus Outline 1. GENERAL. 1.1 COURSE TITLE: RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION 1.2 COURSE NUMBER: 1.3 CONTACT HRS: 3-0-0 Credits: 9 1.4 SEMESTER -OFFERED: ODD / EVEN 1.5 PREREQUISITE: Petroleum Geology / Formation Evaluation / Reservoir Engineering / Production Engineering 1.6 SYLLABUS COMMITTEE MEMBER: Dr. Satish Kumar Sinha 2. OBJECTIVE: This course is designed for masters and PhD level students for better understanding of subsurface data integration. Geological, geophysical, petrophysical and engineering data are put together for a detailed reservoir model. Petroleum engineers use such ‘model for reservoir simulation and production forecast which ultimately affect economics of the field 3.
