SCREWDRIVER
A screwdriver is a tool, manual or powered, used for driving screws. A typical simple
screwdriver has a handle and a shank, ending in a tip the user puts into the screw head before
turning the handle. The parts of the screwdriver are very simple, as they include only a handle,
a shank, a blade, and a tip.

Handle: The handle of the screwdriver is used for driving screws by turning the handle left or
right with your hand. Turning to the left loosens the screws and turning to the right tightens
them.
Shaft: The shaft of the screwdriver is used for stability as well as distancing your hand from the
screw, allowing better accuracy. You would never want your hand to be right on the surface of
the screw.
Blade: The blade of the screwdriver allows you to insert the screwdriver into the screw easily,
and to make sure the screwdriver won’t fall out.
Tip: The tip is what drives in a screw. Tips of a screwdriver are meant to match the head of the
screw, as you would not want to use a different tip from the head of the screw. Examples of
screwdriver tips include a Phillips (+), a Flathead (-), and can even be special shapes on some
occasions such as a star, or a triangle.
In conclusion, a screwdriver is a very useful tool to have, as they are good to use when driving
screws. You can find them at your local hardware store for less than five dollars.
