Emily and Bob’s Teenage Story

There was once two friends named Emily and Bob. They are both in
Grade 5 and in same class. One day, there science teacher asked them
something about the things that they are currently experiencing about
their body:
Teacher: You are now on the age were puberty is taking place. I just
want to ask you what are the visible changes that you are currently
experiencing?
Emily said: “ Teacher, the first thing that I notice is that my voice is a
little higher but some of my classmates are a little deeper. And also, my
chest grows a little and I’m becoming taller now”.
Bob said “Me too teacher, I used to sing high notes but now, my voice is
becoming deeper and it keeps on cracking everytime I speak. And also, I
notice about my broader shoulders and I think I have grown much taller
now.”
Then the whole class replied “Us too teacher”! Their teacher replied,
“What you are experiencing now is totally normal. You are undergoing
puberty stage that’s why you are experiencing these changes in your
body.” “Girls and boys of your age undergo puberty stage. This is when
your boys and girls have deeper voices now, girl’s breasts are starting to
get bigger and boys’ shoulder are now broader. Girls may start their
menstruation now and boys may notice changes in their organs. Hair
will grow under your armpits and private areas. In some cases, both
girls and boys will be having pimples and some may experience changes
in sight.”
Emily asked teacher: Is it okay if we experience this teacher? And what
shall we do?
Teacher said “Yes, it is all okay and you will eventually get used to it.”
Bob asked: “What shall we do if we feel uncomfortable about it?
Teacher replied “whenever you feel uncomfortable, tell your parents
about it or you can open up to your friends. Everyone experiences it
and we have different ways of coping up with it. Remember class that
these changes are part of growing up and soon you will become the
adult that you wanted to be”.
The bell rang, the children got up and happily said Thank you to their
teacher.
