Honoring the 158th Birth Anniversary of the Father of Philippine Revolution
TARLAC- Filipinos, with great joy and pride, welcome another important day in the Philippines, “Bonifacio Day” on the 30 th of November, 2021 which pays tribute to the 158 th birth anniversary of the Father of Philippine Revolution, the Supremo and one of the Philippine’s greatest hero- Gat Andres Bonifacio by virtue of Act No. 2946. Andres Bonifacio led the Philippine revolution against the abusive Spanish colonialism, by founding the infamous Philippine secret organization- The Katipunan or known as KKK. Despite the gap in military power, Bonifacio, along with the Katipuneros, fearlessly engaged in offensive battles against the fully equipped Spaniards. Their fight had sparked the revolutionary hearts among many other Filipinos resulting to a series of events which had overthrown the colonizers. Let us remember this very day, the courage of Bonifacio which had contributed to the freedom we are currently experiencing. May his actions and life serve as a healthy reminder that, we, Filipinos, carry his will of fire to overcome any challenges that comes our way, especially amidst this Covid-19 pandemic. Some heroes are portrayed as a knight in shining armor, riding their white horse at sunset, with their blonde hair swaying and swords pointed in the sky. Some heroes are depicted in capes, however, ours is in salakot, unbuttoned camisa de chino and red shorts with bolo waving in the air under the scorching heat of mountain ranget- Andres Bonifacio Article by: Miclat, Katherine Joy C
