Dear Mrs. D’Lima and Mr. LeBlanc,

I hope this letter finds you well. For my Senior Exit Project, I will be focusing on writing by
creating a professional writing portfolio that will include a short novel. Since middle school, I’ve
grown a passion for writing and have made several personal connections with it. I hope to
improve my writing, participate in public competitions, connect with professional novelists, and,
finally, learn to create a career from my self-works.

For my research paper, I will talk about the importance of inspiration, creative fan pieces, and
overall modern writing. It will talk about the influence of our modern-day literature and how its
effects cultivate cultures, self character, and potential in writers. As a writer myself, I have
personal experience in learning and developing my storytelling from outside sources. So I want
to discuss how important modern literature is from both a business and personal standpoint.

For my project, I mentioned I’ll be creating a professional writing portfolio, which entails a
collection of writing pieces I’ve made—both new and old—from a range of genres. The central
piece being a short novel. After every chapter is made, I will meet with my mentor for thirty
minutes to an hour, discussing what needs to be fleshed out or edited. We will also make an
effort to participate in public competitions, all adding to my twenty-four hours.

I understand that plagiarism is a practice that takes someone’s work or ideas for themselves, and
I promise not to plagiarize. I understand that if I’m caught plagiarizing, then I’m unqualified to
pass the Senior Exit Project and therefore can’t graduate.

Sincerely,

Lexi Wickline
