Lab Exercise:
1- Explain the purpose of Ribbon in AUTOCAD?

The ribbon organizes tools into logical groupings. The ribbon provides a compact palette of all of the tools
necessary to create or modify your drawing.

On the Status bar, click Workspace Switching, then click Save Current As. 3.. In the drop-down list, choose the name
of the workspace for the changes, then click Save.
3)
There are three workspaces available to switch between in AutoCAD.
 Drafting and annotation

 3d modelling.

OPEN ENDED LAB:
REPORT (ELEVATION PLAN OF 2D HOUSE)
INTRODUCTION:
The elevation plans are scaled drawings which show all four sides of the home with all perspective
flattened. These plans are used to give the builder an overview of how the finished home will look and the
types of exterior finishing materials. It will also provide information about the elevation of the ground on
the various faces of the home
DRAWING
COMMANDS:
Line, copy and Trim and erase
EXPLANATION:
Set the North as a design layer and create a diagonal line to the right of the floor plan, far enough away to
be able to develop an elevation (probably about40'). The top of the floor line is rounded red. Blue circles
represent the lines you need to display the corners of the building.Used the circle to draw the lens and
button of the camera as shown in the above drawing. On our house West is the view to the water and East
is the view to the road. We will use the first floor plan on the right and then the second story plan. Step 1 is
make a new layer: EAST and give it a color. Select EAST as the default layer. Turn on Floor1. Also toggle
on ortho to force autocad to draw either up and down or left or right. We're going to use the first floor plan
on the right, and then the second floor plan. Phase 1 is going to render a new layer: EAST and give it a

colour. Switch to the floor1. Often turn to ortho to compel autocad to draw either up and down or left or
right.
CONCLUSION:
The use of the elevation 2d in Auto CAD definitely has some advantages. It can help to reduce the time it
takes to produce the drawings needed in the work environment.

Lab Exercise:
Using commands LINE, FILLET, and MIRROR commands to draw the following figure.
Problem1: Draw only one quarter of the drawing and then using the MIRROR command to get the
entire drawing.

conclusion:
In this lab we practice different 2d figures using line, circle, fillet, offset, trim, mirror and tan-tan-radius
commands.

Lab Exercise:
1. Draw the sectional view of the following Isometric Drawing
2. Describe the procedure for Isometric Drawing and comments it.
Procedure:
You need to update the snap settings to isometric initially. Type DS on the command line and click enter.
The Drafting Settings window will appear from this window to pick the Snap and Grid tab to make sure the
Isometric Snap Radio button is verified. Select OK to exit the Interface Settings window. Now make sure
that the ortho mode is switched on from the status bar, if it is not turned on, then click F8 to turn it on.
Press the F5 key to trigger the Isoplane top and then pick the line command and click anywhere in the
drawing field to start the line. Clearly state the path and type 5 on the command line, then press enter,
continue this step by reversing the orientation of the line to make a shuttered block as shown in photo A
elsewhere here. Click F5 once more to switch the Isoplane to the left of the mean. Begin line command
once more and create lines from four sides of a square with a length of 5 units in a downward, as seen in
object B below.
