Radiology & Procedure Rotation

1. General Goals:
1.1. General Radiology
1.1.1. On this rotation, the fellow will learn to interpret radiographic, computed
tomography and magnetic resonance imaging examinations of the chest and to
formulate appropriate differential diagnoses and recommendations for various
thoracic pathologies, with emphasis on the lungs, mediastinum, pleura, and chest
wall.
1.2. Interventional & Procedures
1.2.1. To learn and perform image guided procedures including venous access. The
fellow will be involved in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic and venous
systems.
1.2.2. Participation in interventional procedures such as transthoracic needle biopsy
and percutaneous catheter drainage of intrathoracic fluid collections will be
encouraged.
1.3. Ultrasound

1.3.1. Ultrasound is one of the primary imaging modalities for rapid noninvasive
evaluation of many regions of the human body and can provide real time
multiplanar assessment that requires that the fellow play an active role
during the examination. Therefore, the fellow must be able to scan a patient
while understanding the complex anatomy and pathology
