writing. Deadlines create an all-important
sense of urgency and necessary focus,
while helping to set priorities and
prompting action. Without deadlines,
there may be reduced motivation and
resolve required to execute tasks (Berry,
S., & Thomas, R. ,2013).
According to a study by PRCC,
Inc. (2016), Timed writing requires
students to select those strategies for
expression that can be used with
automaticity and speed while untimed
writing allows students to use the full
range of available strategies for written
expression. Project TIME includes series
of Timed Activities in Grammar which are
the following: 1) 5 Minutes to Encircle it;
2) 10 Minutes to Edit it; and 3) An Hour
to Write it.
