We, the Philippines' is in high risk to natural disasters due to our location. Being a
country that lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire, we are prone to earthquakes, typhoons
and volcanic eruptions. Our country is surrounded by large bodies of water and
facing the Pacific Ocean where 60% of the world's typhoons are made. We faced
the most devastating typhoons. However, the Typhoon Haiyan, or "Yolanda," that
killed over 10,000 people and destroyed over a trillion pesos worth of properties
and damage to various sectors is the most unforgettable and painful.

We suffers major human-caused environmental degradation aggravated by a high

annual population growth rate, including loss of agricultural lands, deforestation,
soil erosion, air and water pollution, improper disposal of solid and toxic wastes,
loss of coral reefs, mismanagement and abuse of coastal. Thousands of trees
were uprooted leading to a massive release of carbon dioxide and loss of habitat
with resulting effects on wildlife.

We recently experienced the biggest typhoon this year. Our fellow-citizen are in
dire need of help. They've lost their loved once and their home. They suffered
more than we can imagine. It's time for us to do something. To plant trees. To
stop littering. Prevent pollution. And start living with decency. We humans; are
the one that’s causing these natural disasters. Be good. Do good
