I got the information from reading the novel and from Cosmos.

1. Who is the narrator in the story? The narrator in The Outsiders is Ponyboy
Curtis, the main character and the one that the story is focused on.
2. Is the narrative text written in first person, third person omniscient,
or third person limited?  The narrative text is written in first person. This
means that the narrator is a character in the novel.
3. How does the author's choice of narrator contribute to the story? Why
is it important? It contributes because it wouldn’t be written in the same way.
The main character is Ponyboy, and it focuses on his own thoughts and feelings.
It is important because, for instance, when Bob gets shot, the readers get to see
how Ponyboy feels.
4. Do you consider the story's narrator to be reliable? Why or why not? I
consider the story’s narrator reliable, since it is written in first person and it
describes how the character feels.
5. How would the story be different if the narrator was a different
character? The story would be different due to the fact that it would be written
from a different point of view, and the thoughts and feelings of another
character would completely change the story.
