REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

This section includes reading strategies and skills, and a discussion and analysis of

related studies and literature.

Reading Strategies

In terms of reading skills, students should be able to recognize key concepts and

locate critical information in primary sources. This is a big issue for children since it is

difficult for them to recognize specific information or even fundamental words from a

reading, which can be irritating when reading and completing tasks.

Reading processes are important, according to Song (1998), since they help the

pupils enhance their reading comprehension and efficiency. Reading is a most

collaborative process in which readers work together to generate a meaningful text

representation by employing good reading habits. The usage of reading methods

improves reading comprehension skills. Teachers can keep track of their notes while

listening to an academic presentation. To acquire a better understanding of the

students' reading strategies, the instructor could compare their notes to the content of a

textbook.

Wirotanan (2002) University students employed distinct reading strategies when

reading Thai and English materials. The focus of this thesis was to see how different

approaches to reading expository texts in the second language was used by University

readers of high and low proficiency levels.

According to Tercanliogulu (2004), Readers have been using a range of tactics to

assist understanding when reading difficult content. Reading tactics pertain to the

methods readers use to understand what they're reading. Those who desire to improve

their reading skills may benefit from reading activities.
