HEADWORKS ENTRY PROCEDURES

As of 9-27-04

(1)Plant Operator will be responsible for the calibration of the gas


meter on a monthly basis plus the daily auto calibration when the
meter is used. The operator of the week will gas flow calibrated the
meter on the first Wednesday of the month. He will follow the
owner’s manual for procedures of calibration.

(2) The operator when entering the Headworks will turn on the Air
Supply Fan, lights and make sure the meter is working properly.
The operator will notify the Lab Operator before he enters the
Headworks and when he exits the space. He will determine while
he is in the area the proper operations of the Channel Monsters and
any other problems that he may observe. After exiting the
Headworks, the operator will notify the Lab Operator of his status.
Please turn off the lights and Supply Fan.

(3) The operator will continue to the Water Metering Pit and read
the water meter. If the operator does not have to climb down to
read the water meter he will have to lower the meter into the pit
while using the Hold Function on the meter for the purpose to
accumulate air readings. If the operator has to climb down he will
have to notify the Lab Operator again using the same procedures as
he did for the Headworks.

(4) After the operator’s arrival in the lab, he will record his
readings on the supplied log sheets. The operator’s responsibility
will to keep gas meters charged and in good operating condition.
He will alternate the gas meters from week to week. We have each
meter marked as A and B units.
