It is common for people to have goals in their lives: a dream university, a higher position in the
company, etc. But sometimes, it is just too hard to keep up with those dreams. In this case, some might
give up, some might keep trying to go for it. For me, I strongly disagree with the idea that people should
Firstly, it is better to know when to stop. To be more specific, it is better for a person to
acknowledge their position and their ability when they have a desire to reach for an ambition. Sometimes,
we just strive for goals that are way out of reach for us, and that is, to some extent, very burdensome on
our shoulders. In some cases, these goals might leave behind serious consequences for us, such as debt,
etc.
Secondly, sometimes it is better to give up an impossible goal and look for a more possible one.
To clarify this point, chasing after an unachievable task will be hard and tiresome, but not for a possible
target. If you strive for a more possible dream, you will likely complete it and have a sense of victory. In
addition to that, if you take that as motivation, you will feel more at ease to achieve more goals and to a
point, you will realize that this is the right path for you, and you have already surpassed your impossible
dream.
Thirdly, chasing after an unachievable task for a long time will place a heavy burden on your
shoulder physically and mentally. On this challenging journey, people tend to encounter many obstacles
and this might or might not make them feel discouraged. This discourages might lead to decreased
motivation, depression, etc., and even suicide. In many cases discovered on social media, many people
To sum up, it is good to have a target and strive for it, but when it becomes an unachievable goal,
you may want to stop chasing after it and look for another one.
