Valves

Valve is a device that controls the flow and pressure within a system or during
flow. It’s a mechanical device that regulates ,controls and directs the flow of the
fluid. It does that by being open, closed or partially obstructing the flow. It’s a very
important part of for a flow system , for example the general water supply, the
transportation of liquid materials through pipelines like in a chemical plant etc.

Types of valve
There are various type of valves

1. The gate valve

These are the most commonly used valves in the systems .it can either be
fully open or it can be fully closed, there is no midway opening as it can lead
to a damage to the valve. It either completely starts or completely stops the
fluid flow. It has a linear motion and has various applications in water
supply, feed water, chemicals etc.
2. The ball valve
Ball valve can regulate the flow of fluid along with completely opening or
shutting down the flow. It has a quarter turn rotator motion .As the name
suggests, it has a ball shape disk, inside it that regulates the fluid flow. It
has various applications in flow in systems.

3. Needle valve
Needle valve, just like its name has a sharp needle like disk in the middle,
that controls the fluid flow through it. Its main task is to very accurately
control the flow through it.
Centrifugal pumps
These are the most widely used pumps and as the name suggests, they use
centrifugal force to pump fluid. It uses a rotating impeller. They have a very wide
range of application in various industries like agriculture, waste water treatment,
petroleum industries etc. it can handle a lot of pressure and high flow rates .
