Now that we are working on several resorts, it would be amiss on our part to not go back to Bawa. We recently had the opportunity to see his
work in Lunuganga, and we were amazed at how modern, current, and relevant it still is. Please summarize the book up in one sentence. An
inspirational book based on Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, who is ahead of his time especially since his initial formal training was in law
school. Who would you give a copy of it to as a gift? Format: Hardback. Size: Extent: pp. Publication date: 25 November ISBN: Add to Wish
List. Next The Architecture of Rasem Badran. His work is organized in chronological order and the reader can clearly see an evolution of his work
from heavy colonial influence to critical regionalism. Kavya T. The definitive book on Bawa. Over the past 16 years I've dipped in and out of this
book countless times and have always come away with something inspire or awe from one of the greatest architects in my opinion from this part of
the world.
Robson's writing is layered and nuanced and doesn't eulogise. This is an insight into not only Bawa, but the influences that made him who he was,
the local context and the people who inspired and helped him in his journey. Robson's knowledge and friendship of Bawa is evident throughout
and the writing is never laboured or too technical. The beautiful photographs and sketches only add to the overall beauty of the book. A must for
architects and for anyone with an interest in design.

This was a nice book. I would recommend to my class. A fantastic prologue to visiting Bawa's work. Vinoth Kumar. Went through the amazing
completed works by Geoffrey Bawa. Worth of checking out. We bought this book at the Rizzoli bookstore on 57th Street. For how long have
you owned it? Bawa takes the essence of what something is and puts that into his work, weaving architecture with interiors and landscapes. We
love the tropical-modern movement — the design unfolds in such a natural, whimsical way. How are you interpreting its content into your own
