I.

INTRODUCTION

Physical education is the teaching and leading of physical activity in a school gymnasium or other
school setting. Its goal is to improve and maintain students' current health and set them on a path to
maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout their lives. This article will tell you more about what physical
education is and how to pursue a career teaching it.
II. Competencies
LEARNING COMPETENCY
1. Self-assesses health –related fitness (HRF),status, barriers to physical activity assessment
participation and one’s diet.

III. CONTENT / DISCUSSION

Fitness refers to the quality of being able to suitable to do certain task or demand. Fitness covers
physical well-being ,balanced mental state, emotional stability and spiritual soundness. Health is
defined a state of complete physical , an social being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity .
There are two components of Physical Fitness: Skill related Components and health related components.

FACTORS IN ACHIEVING FITNESS AND HEALTH


1. Proper diet includes Go food for energy, Grow for bones, muscles and teeth ; Glow
food for skin , hair and eyes.
2. Regular Exercise helps improve blood stream will be able to continuously supply
oxygen and nutrients to the vital organs of the body .
3. Balanced lifestyle helps reduce the risk of diseases and increases your chance to live
longer. Apart from diet and exercise, a balanced life style includes the ff:
1. Enough rest and sleep
2. Optimistic outlook in life
3. Organized and realistic priorities
4. Good relation with family and friends
5. Various interest and hobbies that develop your intellect, talents and
skills
6. Good hygiene and healthy habits
7 DIMENSION OF WELL-BEING
1. Physical wellness refers to the health of your physical body.
2. Emotional Wellness pertains to your psychological and emotional perspective about
yourself.
3. Intellectual wellness encompasses your open mindedness and intelligence responses
to stimuli, decision making skills, and lifelong learning.
4. Social wellness covers your interaction and relationships with others.
5. Career wellness includes personal satisfaction from your career or job and
contribution as a productive member of society.
6. Environmental wellness relates to your responsibility to take care of environment.
7. Spiritual wellness deals not only with your religious beliefs and practices but more
so with their effects on the other dimension of your well-being.

FITT PRINCIPLES
How to get started with physical fitness .Most importantly, make it a goal to lead an
active life style that you must sustain through your life. FITT principle of exercise or work out can help
you achieve your goal to stay fit.
FREQUENCY refers on how often you will exercise.
INTENSITY pertains to how much effort you will exert in exercise.
TYPE determines what kind of exercise will help you achieve your fitness goals.
TIME relates to how long you will exercise per session.

Frequency 4-5 times a week


Intensity 3 kilometers ( 100 meters per minute)
Type For the heart : brisk walking
Time 30 minutes (15 minutes to and fro.

Note: It is a one day FITT plan. It depends on what kind of exercise(s) you want to work out.

IV. ASSESSMENT

Activity 1: Answer the Following:

1. What do you think is the importance of monitoring your components of


health- related fitness?
Monitoring the components of health related fitness is much important and should be part of our
overall lifestyle. This can help us prevent chronic diseases and serious long-term illnesses. It could also
improve our physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.
Regain our confidence and self-esteem, might as well as our competitive and critical thinking
skills. Nurture positive attitude, value and satisfaction towards life in which what is essential this
pandemic.

2. Do you often have time to exercise or exert effort on any physical activities?
Yes, I sometimes do exercise such as jumping jacks and squats. Also, I always help to do
household chores like do the laundry or sweeping the floor. These physical activities that I perform
normally must exert an extra effort in which these could also be considered my exercise at home.

3. Do you have any barriers to physical fitness and diet that you’re unable to
overcome?
Yes I do. I always used to be procrastinate and lazy to do physical exercise since I don’t usually
go out this pandemic. I can’t work out with my diet as I always want to eat food as much as I want. I go
beyond ‘moderately’ when eating until I get stuffed. I really want to motivate myself to change because
this is the best approach to have a healthy life-style and well-being.

4. What do you frequently do to keep yourself fit?


I’m starting to change my diet, balance to go, grow, and glow foods. Having a regular exercise
every morning which is very helpful to calm my mind during pandemic. This week I’m planning to
follow my FITT program that our P.E. teacher taught us.

Activity 2:

A. Make your own Fitness plan for 5 days based on the FITT. Keep in mind that the
commitment and balance are keys to an achievable and sustainable long term fitness.
