Greetings, sir. I am Randell Jebb Monsalud, one of your students from GED0109 Section
40. In this video I will be sharing my plan or strategy on how to make people listen to my
advocacy speech. Base on the video material that we have watched, Julian Treasure shared his
secrets with us on how to make people listen to you. He called this as the four powerful
cornerstones that can help us make our speech powerful. The word H.A.I.L., which means
Honesty, Authenticity, Integrity and Love. In other words - I should speak with all honesty, I
have to be authentic with my speech, I should speak with integrity and I have to wish my
audience well. I will surely take note of those tips that he shared with us as I keep on developing
my speaking or communication skills, because those four powerful cornerstones can also help
me avoid those bad speaking habits he have mentioned in the video.

And as I apply the tips given by Mr. Treasure to myself, I should also make use of my
strategy in making my audience listen to my speech. As I deliver my speech, I should know my
audience well and I have to keep my words as simple as possible so that my audience will
understand what I am really saying. Also, I have to try to speak confidently and try making an
eye contact with my audiences, they might be part of my plan but, for me, those two are still part
of my weaknesses.
