Reflection 2

REFLECTION ABOUT THE SITUATION IN OUR COMMUNITY

Some people think life in the City is easy and make their life comfortable, they are
encouraged because they think life in province too hard for them. Rural regions and urban areas
are polar opposites, there could be several reasons why people move from the province to a big
city, they want a better job Where there are more people, there are more jobs. This is the main
reason so many people leave their towns to live in big cities. Also, educational opportunities All
major and affluent colleges/universities are located in or near a big city. These influential
institutions offer more majors and draw famous professors which students prefer to study under.
And lifestyle, Cities draw ethnically diverse individual, and the collective cultures create an
exciting cultural backdrop. Many move to a big city to experience a melting pot of things -- such
as foods, activities and movies -- from places that they have never imagined visiting.

Big cities like Manila is overcrowded because of the migrant from the town. Faced with
the lack of opportunity at home, people uproot their lives to find work in the capital, often to
extremely tragic consequences. But many believe that an impoverished life in the city is still
better than their former life in the province, and the prospect of returning home doesn’t even
figure. This is now slowly changing as other major cities like Cebu and Davao are gradually
developing and creating new opportunities. Meanwhile, reproductive health and effective family
planning are still in their infant stages, so to speak. So, while there’s some progress keeping
people from moving in, there’s still not enough being done to get them to move out, or at least
keep them from multiplying from within.
