headline of the Rappler website when the Comelec decided to extend the deadlines of voter
registration. It is a controversial issue today that alarms many citizens. Many are grateful because
of this news. It is because everyone wants to register and have the right to vote. Many believe that
their votes will matter this incoming election at the national level.
Since democracy happened, we had the right to vote. We have the chance to elect and put
representatives and leaders in the position. Whenever we are voting, we are using our rights to
vote. We are giving ourselves the right to choose the correct and responsible leader of our country.
This year 2022, the election of national leaders will happen. Many politicians filed their Certificate
of Candidacy (COC) for different positions. They say and present platforms and plans they are
going to do. They now have their political campaign to get the hearts of the Filipino citizens. They
wish their position on us. However, as a good voter, we should vote wisely. We should be the right
ones that will lead our country for betterment. Let's not be blinded by the amounts of money they
are giving. We should pick someone who has good leadership and will hear the voice of the
citizens. We must use our rights for good things only.
In summary, until now, the right that is given to us is present. Filipinos are still enjoying
the democracy and rights they have. We should be reminded that this is the most important role in
our country. To vote for the good ones, to vote for the country, and to vote wisely.
