Subject: Newberry Township - Yocumtown Road (SR 0392) @ Red Mill Road
Good Morning Anthony,
It has come to PennDOT's attention that Newbery Township has installed red flashers on the stop signs at the
intersection of Yocumtown Road {SR 0392) and Red Mill Road, in Newberry Township, York County. These types of lights
‘ate not permitted and are not appropriate for the application. As such, PennDOT Is requesting that Newberry Township
remove the aforementioned red flashers. | have attached photos submitted to the department by a local resident.
Should the Township wish to pursue the installation of the appropriate flashing warning devices, then changes may be
proposed to PennDOT Engineering District 8 through the Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) Application Process and/or
the regional planning and programming process. Information on the HOP process may be found at www.penndot.gov.
Should you have any questions regarding specifics on flashing warning devices you may contact Eric Kinard, Signals
Section Supervisor, at ekinard@pa.gov or (717) 787-9237. | have CCed Eric on this email for reference
